Hello! I am Ji Yoon "echo" Lee, the president of the Epsilon chapter of Alpha Delta Chi for the academic year of 2021-2022. I am a senior at USC majoring in biochemistry and minoring in piano. ADX means so much to me and the sisterhood is unlike any other, so I would love to share my ADX experience with you. I joined ADX in the Fall semester of 2020 online as the Alpha Zeta pledge class, and was active in Spring 2021 as the secretary, recruitment chair, and philanthropy chair. ADX is such a sweet and amazing community to be in, and it helped me survive through online college during COVID. As a girl born and raised in South Korea who felt very unfamiliar with Greek life at first, being a member of ADX has especially been a unique experience, though it was on Zoom. I took classes back in Korea since the COVID outbreak, and the sisters spiritually and emotionally supported me as I was struggling to thrive academically across the Pacific Ocean with a ridiculous time difference. I am now very excited to be the president of ADX and jump into in-person Greek life.
The sisterhood that ADX provides is truly different from normal friendship, and the fellowship with the brothers of Alpha Gamma Omega is also very special. Even though I had never seen most of the sisters and brothers in-person before joining ADX, and even though I only saw them on a monitor for over an entire year, meeting them in real life was unbelievably comfortable, intimate, and encouraging, just like a dream-come-true. The social aspect is very enjoyable, but above all, the spiritual connection and growth that occurs within this community is the core, which makes it so extraordinary.
Not only does ADX provide fellowship among its own members, but we also have opportunities to participate in service events, socials with other ADX chapters and Greek organizations, and study nights to aid girls in their academic endeavors. If I could only pick one org to participate in at USC, I wouldn't hesitate to choose ADX because it's the perfect balance of the things that are important to me as a student at USC: a fluorishing and meaningful social life, focus on academic studies and career goals, and a Christ-centered community that allows me to continually grow deeper in relationship with God.
